The project involved the demolition of ad-hoc additions to the property and the remodelling and extension of the existing building in line with client requirements for modern living.
The double storey extension to the north east of the building transforms this house into a double fronted five bedroom residence. The open plan of the ground floor and the provision of a large double bedroom at this level makes the building spacious and accessible.
The building has been extended along the east elevation to accommodate a garden / sunroom that is accessed from a large open plan living / dining / kitchen area. The garden has been beautifully planted to present a sense of the ‘outside’ inside. Located to the south of the building an additional single storey extension has been designed for home office use.
The alterations and extensions throughout have been carefully considered to accommodate the requirements of the family whilst simultaneously sustaining and developing the existing building’s characteristics
